We were truly honoured to welcome HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh to the Albrighton Trust Moat and Gardens on 30th April.
During her visit, Her Royal Highness met the team, along with our trustees, volunteers, and valued supporters, taking time to learn more about the people at the heart of our charity.
The Duchess toured our fishing facility, where she met some of our regular anglers with physical and learning disabilities and even enjoyed casting a line herself. The visit continued through our gardens, where Her Royal Highness met volunteers working across the garden’s beds. In the greenhouse, The Duchess spent time with our Garden Buddies, learning about their work and helping to create hanging baskets, a moment that was warmly enjoyed by all.
Her Royal Highness also visited our workshop, where she joined volunteers in creating a bug hotel, an activity that was warmly received and widely welcomed.
The visit concluded with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque, marking a truly special and memorable day for the charity.
We are sincerely grateful for Her Royal Highness’s time, warmth, and support. The visit was not only a celebration of our work but also a powerful recognition of the community we are proud to serve and the positive impact we strive to make every day.
