Open Day raises over £1,000

We are pleased to announce that our annual Charity Open Day on Saturday 2 July raised over £1k to help towards replacing our disabled fishing platforms. Thankyou to all those who visited and supported us on the day.

The fishing competition was a great success. In our most fish caught competition Paul Donaldson won in the Under 12's category with a catch of 23 fish. James Birks won in the Junior Category with 16 fish caught and Dan Fisher won in the Adult Category with 36 fish caught. Andrew Young caught the heaviest fish of the day with a 2lb 12 oz common carp. The youngest competitor was Alessandro 2 ½ unfortunately his 3 fish was not enough to win; his mum said he’ll be back again next year to try again.

The raffle raised almost £500. Thankyou to all those local businesses and generous individuals who donated prizes - we really appreciate your support.

Lynne Baron won 1st prize of 4 tickets to see Snow White at the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham, Chris Simpson won 2nd prize of a £25 gift voucher and the 3rd prize Sweetie Hamper went to Douglas.

Congratulations to all our winners - we hope to see you again soon.
