New Art Programme for 16yrs+

Participants will:

  • learn about certain aspects of the natural world;
  • develop practical skills through making and doing;
  • observe and experience the nature around them;
  • enhance their creativity and imagination skills;
  • produce objects and art work inspired by nature;

The programme is aimed at adults with disabilities, special needs and/or learning difficulties from the age of 16 upwards who would like to challenge themselves by learning something new and engaging in healthy, creative activity. It will involve both indoor and outdoor work.

The contents of each session will vary depending upon the weather, the seasons and what is happening in the Moat and Gardens throughout the year. Much of the work will be practical and productive with the opportunity for those who wish it to research further into subjects that interest them – using both onsite library facilities and computers.

Sessions will run from 10am to 3pm every Tuesday in term time starting on the 6th of September. The programme costs £7.50 per session paid in advance for the term. Participants will need to bring a packed lunch.
